Etheric Beauty

*The image above is from http://thomasaphilbrook.com/ . His work can also be found at the Michael Stoffa gallery in Rockport, MA. I was introduced to his work today at the gallery and it brightened my day even more. He uses local photographs, combined with his graphic design skills to create these wonder-filled works of art.*

Today we were blessed with a beautiful surprise of a day. After a cold and damp week, today was sunny and 61 degrees. Wow! I had to get out to wog (wogging: walking with such a spring in your step that it is almost a jog...but not quite). I went up to Rockport, MA. It felt truly magical. The town Christmas Tree was being carefully placed at the entrance to Bearskin Neck. Storekeepers & gallery owners were working on holiday decorations and window displays. Fellow walkers and shoppers had smiles on their faces, and even this early in the season, were already greeting each other with Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or just "What a great day!". Everyone felt the energy of the season and was truly living in the magic of the moment.

I live south of Rockport and it looked like a summer day in my city, blue skies and only a few puffy clouds. Once you crossed the bridge to get into the Gloucester/Rockport area though, the towns were hidden in the fog. What amazed me though was that it made it even more beautiful. The light was trying so hard to shine through, and different colors reflected around the water, on the boats, the ocean and clouds. Purples, pinks, and golds shimmered around the harbor. I found it funny that the unseasonable warmth of the day, invigorated the true spirit of the season into the townspeople.

I am so grateful to have experienced this gift of a day. I hope you have a heart filled day too.
